general
-- for your display name stick to your main characters name, or the title that everyone knows you by. Like many will know me as Ivory. then capitalize the first letter. i just find it easier to find members and such.
-- respect your staff. that is your number one most important rule. no just kidding. but seriously, what we say goes. feel free to point out things in a polite manner, but i doubt our decision will sway, and if you are extremely rude you will be suspended.
-- respect all other members. this is just as important. i don't want exclusive groups being built because you know each other from another site. it's fine to carry those friendships through, but new members are just as important as known ones. you can't build a community of exciting RP with a select few.
-- no god-modding. period. this is realistic, and no cat is invincible. or as realistic as you can get with StarClan involved ; )
-- i expect you to be at least semi-literate. if you can't manage two well-written paragraphs a post, this isn't the site for you.
-- also i rate this forum M [for mature]. if you can't handle dying and birthing and intercourse and such then maybe you should leave. but still, some people don't want to read it, so mark it with [M] for mature if your thread takes that kind of turn.
-- signatures need not be over 500 pixels in width. i don't want to see the board stretch. and also, no taller than 300.
-- abide by the aging rule.
-- no power playing. sometimes this can be an issue. so the owner of the character should contact one of the admins saying when they've granted permission for someone else to take over their character for a while, while they're away.
-- i'm not putting restrictions on the amount of characters in place. but just remember, play as many as you can handle. if this becomes an issue and i see characters becoming inactive, their will be a limit.
-- bans can not be avoided. if i have banned certain aged or ranked cats from being made, then even if you are in the making of one, i won't accept it until the ban has been ended.
-- no spamming. if you do, your IP will be blocked.
-- verify other plots/sub plots with me or another member of staff before playing them out. creativity is fine, but i don't want to see something majorly extravagant where your character is the center of attention. lets give someone else a chance as well =) who knows, if you have a good subplot then i may even post it up with the other subplots.
posting
-- there's no word counts or what not, but i'd like to at least one well written paragraph.
-- please 'sup' all posts. with the annoying size mess up, size=1 makes it unreadable, and it looks too large and messy just left. so, all posts must be in these brackets: [ sup] that's at the very beginning. your text goes here. [ /sup] at the very end. with out the spaces of course. i feel like a little perfectionist, but it makes everything just look so nice x3.
-- if you're including more than one character per-post, add a paragraph per extra character.
-- this shouldn't have to be said but i'm trying to cover all areas. make dialog different from actions and description and such. "these" are the most common. put grass next to the cats favorite food in the bio. but boldening and making it a different colour can be used as well.
-- i like pretty colours =) decorate your post how you want as long as you still 'sup' it and dialog is different from other text.
characters
-- no one is perfect. this does apply to cats as well. and i can see your little eyes bulging but it's true! even if they are rather pretty and pettable. and viscous when they want to be. but yes, it's true, they have flaws. so lets see no mary-sues or gary-stus in appearance or personality. wot wot?
-- keep 'em active! isn't it always a big bummer when you have amazing plots or relationships building and then the other character just isn't played?
-- cats are one-hundred-percent straight. or heterosexual. whatever you want to call it. they were made that way and have stayed that way, so it's impossible so two characters of the same sex to feel attracted to the other 'in that way'.
-- names should be realistic. and seeing as the cats wouldn't know such things like crystals or gems or ivory, etc. you can't use those substances. well, i'll admit that i may break this rule myself, and make exceptions if you can think of a good reason why your character would be called that.
-- track relationships with others in the oh so useful character rooster board. you can group them all you like, just have one for at least one of your characters please.
-- and there you go, you're done! congratulations! that didn't take too long did it? most these rules you'll abide by without thinking anyway, hopefully. so get out there and have fun. =D
