THE RANKS
-- the leader is the main controller of the clan. they finalize decisions, keep others in order and generally direct the running of the clan. they get their own den.

-- the deputy is chosen by the leader themselves. they advise the leader and also help make decisions. the leader will listen to them most, and also leave them in charge of the clan in the leaders absence. they may make more appearances than the leader, as the leader may leave them in charge of certain things. they will take over when the leader dies/retires. they get their own den.
&&chiefs
-- the five chiefs are chosen by the leader and deputy combined. there is never less than five. if one passes away or retires, another is chosen to take that ones place. the leader and deputy chose them based on what abilities the have shown or whether their personality traits are desirable. like whether they are determined, brave, noble, truthful or whether they have a quick, sharp mind. the deputy is usually picked from these. a lot of kits goals are to be mentored by one of them. they each get their own dens for them and any family they may have.

&&medicine cat
-- the medicine cat would have been an apprentice first, chosen to master the skills needed by the medicine cat at the time, the leader and StarClan combined. they assist cats who are unwell, and many chose to come to them for advice. they are not allowed to take a mate or breed. they get their own den.
&&warriors
-- these make up the majority of the clan. they do the basic day-to-day duties like guarding the entrance to camp, going out on patrols, hunting and maybe even training apprentices. they have to share communal dens.

&&senior warriors
-- these warriors are more senile than the others, with more age and wisdom behind them. they don't participate as much on the heavy duty physical work, but make more contributes to deciding how things should be done or passing on knowledge. these warriors are usually soon to be retired. they have to share the communal warriors den.
&&constant queens
-- there is usually only two or three of these. these are she-cats who decided not to take on the task of being a warrior again, so instead they sleep in the nursery den. usually they've had more than one litter. they can help by adopting any kits who's mother has died in birth or later, and if they so wish, they can help raise the other kits by passing on advise to the mothers. because that area of work the medicine cat can't help as much in, having never had kits themselves.
&&queens
-- these cats are only made up of she-cats. they are either pregnant or nursing kits who aren't apprentices yet. they were previously warriors, and will go back to their duties once their kits are apprenticed. they share the nursery den.
&&apprentices
-- they are from the age of six moons up until twelve moons. for the six moons in between they train with their assigned mentor who is a warrior chosen by the leader, when the apprentices were six moons old. at twelve moons the leader tests them to see how much they've learned, and if they're ready to become a warrior. sometimes the deputy can do this test and will report back to the leader. they share the communal apprentice den.

-- these cats range from the age of a few seconds up until six moons. they are not allowed outside of camp. and usually their mother only lets them out of the den when they are supervised. they share the nursery den.
&&elders
-- these cats are retired from being warriors, or have developed too many bad wounds to continue. only a few are those kits that were born with disabilities like being blind or having three legs, or being death, that couldn't go on to become warriors. these elders usually have many stories to share, and knowledge to spread. they are looked after by the apprentices. they share the communal elders den.[/ul][/sup]
